Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck COMPASS ROSE 3 is located at coordinates 58 9.982 N, 1 6.11 W in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland near Fraserburgh. Historical survey records from April and May 1975 document the disappearance of the vessel after failing to make radio contact, leading to an extensive air search and subsequent rescue operations where the body of a crew member was recovered northeast of Fraserburgh. Local fishermen later reported locating wreckage matching the vessel's paint description, and subsequent marine surveys and sonar contacts investigated the wreck site in the waters off northeastern Scotland.
