The shipwreck CHYAU FENG NO.12 is located at coordinates 15 28.357 S, 167 15.43 E, situated on a reef off the coast of Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu. Originally stranded on October 18, 1977, the vessel was heading WSW before sustaining a 10-degree port list and breaking into three distinct sections. Initial reports indicated the foredeck was submerged, the afterdeck was awash, and the engine room was flooded. Following the declaration of a total loss on October 7, 1977, the site has become well broken up. Today, the wreckage of the CHYAU FENG NO.12 consists primarily of scattered machinery remnants remaining on the reef structure at these specific coordinates.
