Simplified Wreck Survey

The historical shipwreck known as BYGDO is located off the coast of East Anglia in the North Sea near Lowestoft at the coordinates 52 22.528 N, 1 48.057 E. Although initially reported as a sinking position in 1918 and historically charted as a dangerous wreck, multiple subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted by Trinity House and the Royal Navy, including comprehensive multi-beam sonar searches between 1982 and 2017, failed to locate any trace of the structure. The wreck was officially confirmed as no longer in existence and deleted from navigational charts, with marking buoys permanently withdrawn.
