Simplified Wreck Survey

The Briardene is an unconfirmed World War I shipwreck with given coordinates of 49 42.537 N, 6 16.055 W located approximately 12.5 miles southeast by south from Bishop Rock. Historical hydrographic surveys note that the wreck position was charted as a dangerous obstruction in 1976 before subsequent sonar searches and multibeam bathymetry data from 1989 and 2017 failed to locate any significant wreckage, resulting in the position being disproved and deleted from official charts as dead.
