The shipwreck BAINSIZZA is located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya at coordinates 34 54.5 N, 11 44.5 E. Historical maritime surveying records from the UK Hydrographic Office indicate that the wreck was originally charted as a dangerous wreck in position 34 54.5 N, 11 44.5 E. Subsequent hydrographic surveys and navigation notices dated between 1948 and 1976 led to the status of the BAINSIZZA being amended to a dead wreck or deleted from official charts due to later assessments by the primary charting authority. While some later Italian charts displayed a structural feature at 34 54.5 N, 11 45.25 E, the obstruction is no longer officially recognized or charted by the primary hydrographic authority for the region.
