Historical surveying details indicate the wreck was previously identified by the name HMS PEARL, featuring two masts and a funnel. Following various hydrographic surveys between 1911 and 2016, the current status of the wreck is identified as a structural wreck (ST WK) with the main hull and superstructure integrity reported in past inspections.
