Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck known possibly as the Arnside is located off the southwest coast of the United Kingdom in the English Channel at coordinates 50 3.802 N, 5 45.25 W. This intact and upright underwater wreck lies in an east to west orientation on a seabed of light sand at a general depth of 35 meters. The least echo sounder depth over the obstruction is 33 meters, with a scour depth reaching 37 meters. Measuring approximately 50 meters in length, the vessel features a centre part well buried in sand up to the top of the bulwark, while the bow and stern remain clear with the remains of the superstructure lying astern. Additional features include an anchor on the bow and a screw on the prop shaft, though no positive identification has been confirmed.

BUILT IN 1912 BY J CROWN & SONS, SUNDERLAND. PASSAGE BIRKENHEAD TO BOSTON (LINCS). CARGO MANURE. SINGLE BOILER, SINGLE SCREW, TRIPLE EXPANSION OF 110 NHP. CREW OF 11 LOST. CAUSE OF LOSS UNKNOWN, BUT BOAT WITH THREE CREW SEEN TO BE SWAMPED. ALL LOST. (SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES).
