AN UNEXPLODED BOMB AND A NUMBER OF UNEXPLODED SHELL PROJECTILES WERE LOCATED IN THE WKGE. (CONSTANT & CONSTANT ARM/KW/0085-122, DTD 14.6.85). COULD BE REMAINS OF 'APOSTOLOS ANDREAS', CHARTED CLOSE NE AND ORDNANCE COULD HAVE RESULTED FROM USE OF WK FOR TARGET PRACTICE. NCA YET. H3543/68 1.7.85 PRECISE SATNAV POSN 183145N, 754547W [WGD], CHECKED TWICE DAILY OVER PERIOD 25 JAN TO 9 FEB '85. AT HW WRKGE VISIBLE 0.3MTR ABOVE WATER AND CONSISTED OF CYLINDERS OF MAIN ENGINE, LYING IN ENE/WSW DIRN. GEN DEPTH IN VICINITY 5 TO 6MTRS. APPARENTLY HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO EXTENSIVE BOMBING AND SHELLING. (CONSTANT & CONSTANT, 24.6.85). CHART AS DW, AS BREAKING UP AND TIDAL RANGE IS VERY SMALL. R/P. VESSEL, BUILT 1937, WHILST EN-ROUTE GUANTANAMO TO CHINA, RAN AGROUND ON FORMIGAS BANK OFF MORANT POINT, E COAST OF JAMAICA. VESSEL FLOODED DUE TO EXTENSIVE BOTTOM DAMAGE AND WAS ABANDONED AS A TOTAL LOSS WHEN SHE BEGAN TO BREAK UP. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY SANTA KATERINA CO. LTD. (MSD).
