The shipwreck ALTAIR is located at 18 6.94 S, 178 23.17 E off the coast of Fiji. This partially submerged 2-masted cargo vessel is approximately 26 meters in length with a beam of 6.3 meters. Originally recorded at coordinates 18 06 49.4S, 178 23 23.6E using trisponder positioning, the wreck site was later updated to the Fiji 1986 datum position of 18 06 56.4S, 178 23 09E. The vessel, which sits at a heading of 253 degrees true, remains a known underwater obstruction in the region.
