Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck known as ALISON (POSSIBLY) is located off the south coast of England in the English Channel near the Owers Light Vessel at GPS coordinates 50 34.829 N, 0 26.647 W. Originally sunk during World War I and historically recorded around 503415N 002900W, the wreck was officially located on August 11, 1976, and later examined using DGPS on May 28, 2003. The intact underwater obstruction sits upright on a sedimentary seabed with small ridges in a general depth of 60 meters, with a least echo sounder depth of 56.1 meters and no scour. The structural dimensions of the wreck measure 36 meters in length, 8 meters in width, with a height of 3.8 meters, oriented on a heading of 003/183 degrees with the bow facing north and a poor magnetic anomaly.
