Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck details for an obstruction located at 56 31.995 N, 0 28.11 W in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland. This underwater object was identified after fouling the nets of the Scottish trawler Stardust in June 1983. The object was retrieved and identified as wreckage from a Phantom aircraft. The site is located at an approximate depth of 270 feet. While a previous search for wreckage in the general region was conducted in 1978 following a helicopter sighting, the specific obstruction at these coordinates was confirmed during the 1983 recovery operation. This record is maintained for hydrographic and navigational filing purposes.
