BUILT IN 1920 BY BURMEISTER & WAIN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE EAST ASIATIC CO. FORMERLY A DANISH LINER WHICH AFTER THE OCCUPATION OF DENMARK IN 4.1040 SAILED UNDER THE BRITISH FLAG. OIL ENGINES OF 990NHP FOR 12 KNOTS. PASSAGE HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA FOR LIVERPOOL IN CONVOY. TORPEDOED BY U 402. (DODS).
