Simplified Wreck Survey

The YARROW wreck is a historical maritime obstruction located off the coast of Morocco near Mohammedia, specifically situated between Mansouriah and Bouznika. The vessel, identified as the YARROW, remains at approximate coordinates 33 48.34 N, 7 13.9 W. Following a grounding incident on January 15, 1972, the wreck was reported as stranded, broken in two, and positioned on rocks approximately 12 meters north of Mohammedia, lying broadside roughly 100 meters from the beach. The structural condition of the wreck is reported as well broken and continuing to break up due to coastal exposure. This underwater obstruction is not currently shown on French nautical chart 7511 or standard ENCs, with historical records noting the status as amended to dead.

RAN AGROUND ON ROCKS APPROX 12M N OF MOHAMMEDIA DUE TO STEERING GEAR FAILURE IN HEAVY WEATHER. SHORTLY AFTER BEING ABANDONED VESSEL BROKE IN TWO. (MSD).
