BR STD. 8.10.08 8.10.08 A WELL BROKEN AND PARTIALLY DISPERSED WK WITH A CARGO OF COKE. SINGLE SCOTCH BOILER WHICH LOOKS TOO SMALL FOR A SHIP OF 81MTRS. WRECKAGE IS PILED UP BEHIND THE BOILER SO THE ENGINE CANNOT BE SEEN. THE AFTER PART OF THE WK CONSISTS MAINLY OF COKE CARGO BUT THE STERN IS INTACT WITH A SINGLE IRON PROP. DEPTH TO SEABED IS 59MTRS BY DIVE COMPUTER. IDENTITY BY POSN, SIZE AND COKE CARGO. WESTERGATE SHOULD HAVE HAD TWO BOILERS BUT ONE SUPPOSEDLY EXPLODED AS THE SHIP SANK (CHANNEL WRECKS - MAW). (N R CHIPCHASE). NCA. 27.10.08 27.10.08 4.7 INCH SHELLS FOUND IN STERN SUGGESTING THAT WESTERGATE IS THE CORRECT IDENTIFICATION. (N R CHIPCHASE).
