Simplified Wreck Survey

The underwater wreck of the Viking Queen is located off the coast of northeast Scotland in the North Sea at coordinates 57 4.285 N, 1 55.069 W. This intact shipwreck was examined using DGPS with a least multibeam depth of 67.10 meters in a general depth of 70.1 meters. The structural description of the wreck details a length of 17 meters, a width of 11 meters, and a height of 3 meters, with the bows likely pointing SSW and a 0.6 meter deep scour extending 14 meters towards 320 degrees.

Circumstances of loss

TOOK IN WATER DURING ROUGH WEATHER. WAS ABANDONED BY CREW AND TAKEN IN TOW BY FV LOCH MARAVAIG FOR ABERDEEN. SANK WHILE UNDER TOW.
