Simplified Wreck Survey

The underwater wreck known as VERNICK is located at coordinates 50 45.435 N, 0 3.894 W off the southern coast of England in the English Channel. Originally reported to have sunk in January 1978 and initially charted as a 10-meter underwater obstruction, subsequent hydrographic surveys by HMS Bulldog in December 1980 found nothing during an intensive search within 400 meters of the position, leading to the wreck being deleted and amended to dead. Further multibeam sonar data from Gardline Geosurvey in 2015 also confirmed no fish or obstruction was seen, resulting in no further action required for this historical wreck site.
