Simplified Wreck Survey
The Torcello wreck is a historical underwater obstruction located off the coast of Worthing, England, at coordinates 50 47.352 N, 0 23.158 W. Originally identified as a sunken yacht in April 1955, the site was initially marked by a mast protruding 6 feet above the water at high tide and denoted by a green can buoy. Following professional surveys conducted in 1963, it was determined that the vessel had completely broken up, and the mast was subsequently removed by the British Sub-Aqua Club. Despite multiple search efforts between 1977 and 2019, including advanced multibeam (M/B) sonar data assessments, the Torcello remains not located on the seafloor and is officially classified as a non-existent or dead wreck site.
