BECAME IMMOBILISED 5.10.71 FOLLOWING BOILER TROUBLE DURING TYPHOON 'ELAINE'. CREW EVACUATED BY HELICOPTER TWO DAYS LATER AND SHIP FLOATED ASHORE. WRECKED VESSEL BROKE AT THE AFTER END OF NO 3 HOLD, WITH THE HOLDS BECOMING FLOODED. (MSD).
