Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater Wreck Survey Summary for Godrevy Light. Located off the coast of Cornwall, this site was historically investigated as a potential shipwreck but confirmed to be natural rock formations. The coordinates for this site are 50 15.961 N, 5 26.053 W. Initial reports suggested a sunken vessel 2 miles NNW of Godrevy Light, leading to historical charting as a dangerous wreck. Subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted on 9 October 2009 identified three distinct contacts in a line measuring 43 meters in length and 4 meters in width, with a least depth of 22.89 meters in a general depth of 24.1 meters. However, a follow-up dive inspection on 26 August 2016 conclusively identified the feature as a natural line of rock pinnacles rather than a man-made vessel. Consequently, the site is designated as dead in hydrographic records. The seabed features consist of small rock objects with no signs of scour and an orientation of 040/220 degrees.
