Simplified Wreck Survey

Historic shipwreck remains of a large steam ship located in the English Channel off the south coast of England at coordinates 50 33.596 N, 0 46.224 W. Surveyed extensively by the UK Hydrographic Office, this underwater wreck lies upright in a general depth of 24 meters on a flat, featureless seabed with no scour. The well broken up site measures approximately 110 meters in length and 19.5 meters in width, oriented at a 144/324 degree heading, with a least multibeam depth of 19.94 meters and a height of 4.4 meters. Archaeological and diving reports indicate the vessel was extensively salvaged or dispersed with explosives, leaving the hull plates almost entirely disintegrated. The prominent structural remains consist of a boiler and triple expansion steam engine standing proud of the seabed, alongside small surviving portions of the bow and stern showing signs of light dispersal and breakage, accompanied by a strong magnetic anomaly.
