26.4.1970 BUILT IN 1950 BY ERIKSBERGS M/V A/B, GOTHENBURG. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY INTERNATIONAL OVERSEAS MARINE CORP SA. LADEN PASSAGE KHARG ISLAND FOR APAPA/LAGOS. BROKE IN TWO IN HEAVY SEAS AFTER A FIRE. FORPART SANK ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. 26 MEN REMAINED ON THE AFTER PART UNTIL RESCUED BY MV S A NEDERBURG. 14 MEN LOST. THE AFTER PART DRIFTED AND FINALLY SANK ON 26.4.1970. (MSD).
