The shipwreck Shigizan Maru is located at coordinates 42 57.626 N, 3 4.769 E in the Mediterranean Sea. Historical hydrographic survey records indicate the underwater obstruction was initially reported as a dangerous wreck with a position approximate, and was historically marked by a green buoy. Divers located the submerged wreck in 1977 at a general depth of 28 meters. Subsequent hydrographic surveys updated the underwater wreck data, establishing a depth of 20.3 meters over the remains at the corrected position of 42 57.626 N, 03 04.769 E.
