Simplified Wreck Survey
The wreck of the vessel SHAWNEE is located at coordinates 12 29.733 N, 81 43.167 W off the eastern coast of San Andres Island. This underwater obstruction represents a stranded and abandoned vessel that was officially recorded as a permanent wreck site following the abandonment of salvage efforts. The site is situated near the southern end of the eastern coastline of San Andres Island, positioned south-west of the former Polaris 1 wreck site. Historical survey data indicates the wreck is located approximately 189 degrees and 5.46 miles from the air light at the northern end of San Andres Island. This nautical hazard is recognized by the UK Hydrographic Office and remains charted as a structural wreck in the specified geographic position.
