VESSEL, BUILT 1950 BY NORDSEEWERKE EMDEN, EMDEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY CIA. NAV. VLANASTY. S.A. ON PASSAGE FROM GALATZ FOR LISBON. CAUGHT FIRE IN HER ENGINE-ROOM. AFTER ALL 20 CREW HAD SAFELY ABANDONDED SHIP, SHE WAS TAKEN IN TOW, BUT SANK LATER THE SAME DAY IN HEAVY SEAS. (MSD).
