Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the Saint Emile is located at coordinates 34 18.508 N, 6 34.821 W near the coastline of Rio Sebou, Morocco. First reported as stranded in June 1945 on the left bank downstream from Port Lyantey, the vessel shifted positions over several decades. By May 1950, the wreck was recorded at 34 18.44 N, 6 34.535 W, oriented at 242/062 degrees and marked by a black conical light buoy and a flag on its stern. Further records from 1955 and 1987 continued to track the site as a stranded hazard. In February 2006, nautical chart BA 1912 (Plan E: Rio Sebou) identified the site as a wreck with a conical buoy. By October 2013, it was officially designated as a dangerous wreck position at 34 18.508 N, 6 34.821 W. While some 2016 French records indicate it is no longer shown on specific charts, the Saint Emile remains a documented underwater obstruction and maritime landmark.
