WAS WASHED ASHORE ON DUTCHMAN'S BANK FOLLOWING ENGINE FAILURE AND INCOMPETENT SEAMANSHIP DURING A GALE. (DODS). VESSEL, BUILT 1816 BY A.M. MACLACHLAN &CO., DUMBARTON WITH PADDLE & 2 CYLINDER COMPOUND ENGINE & 2 BOILERS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LIVERPOOL & BEAUMARIS PACKET CO. WAS IN POOR CONDITION WHEN SHE WAS USED FOR SIGHTSEEING TRIPS FROM LIVERPOOL TO BEAUMARIS. 127 LIVES LOST. (SIBI) DESCRIPTIONS OF LOST AND DRAWINGS. ONLY 23 SURVIVORS. (SHIPWRECKS OF N WALES & SHIPWRECKS AROUND WALES)
