Simplified Wreck Survey

The historical shipwreck known as ROSE OF DEVON is recorded at coordinates 52 52.1 N, 3 6.987 E. Historical hydrographic surveys and records document the position of this wreck, which was referenced in Dr. Fowlers book up to April 1916. Subsequent Hydrographic Office surveys, including assessments in 1926 and 1931, monitored the wreck status as non-dangerous or dead. Further updates from Netherlands fisheries data in 1954 refined the recorded position, leading to its deletion from official charts following a Notice to Mariners in 1977. A modern hydrographic survey conducted in September 2014 by Gardline Geosurvey using multibeam sonar and magnetometers failed to locate any trace of the vessel, confirming the wreck is no longer present at this location.
