Circumstances of loss

VESSEL, BUILT 1900 BY BLYTH SHIPBUILDING CO, WAS TORPEDOED & SUNK BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE. THE CAPTAIN & 19 CREW WERE KILLED, 1 SURVIVOR WAS TAKEN PRISONER. OWNED AT THE TIME OF LOSS BY ORDERS & HANFORD STEAMSHIP CO. (DODS). SUNK WHILE ON PASSAGE FROM HUELVA TO TROON. (LL WW1).
