Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of MV Rombongan 1 is a documented underwater wreck and navigation obstruction located in the South China Sea off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia. Positioned at coordinates 3° 58.16' N, 113° 42.3' E (also recorded in survey logs as 03° 58' 12" N, 113° 42' 06" E), this site marks the location of the sunken motor vessel. Hydrographic survey records first logged the obstruction on December 18, 1984, as reported in Sarawak Notice to Mariners 16/84. It was formally identified as the wreck of the MV Rombongan 1 on April 22, 1985, under UK Hydrographic Office survey reference H3270/84.
