Simplified Wreck Survey

This historical underwater aircraft wreck site is situated in the outer anchorage of Torbay along the Devon coastline, positioned at coordinates 50 25.751 N, 3 28.239 W. The site previously held the submerged wreckage of an Avro Anson twin-engine aircraft. Following official authorization in August 1975, the total aircraft remains were lifted from the seabed in October 1979. The salvaged wreckage was subsequently cleaned and preserved by the Devon Aircraft Research and Recovery Team. Although the aircraft structure has been fully recovered, this location in Torbay remains a notable point of interest in maritime and military aviation history.
