28.8.26 CAUGHT FIRE OFF BULL BAY AT 2230, THURSDAY 26 AUGUST 1926. ABANDONED AND CREW LANDED IN OWN BOAT AT BULL BAY. DRIFTED EAST STILL ON FIRE AND OBSERVED AT DAYLIGHT STILL SMOULDERING IN VICINITY OF THE SKERRIES. TRINITY HOUSE TENDER STEAMER 'BEACON' SANK THE DERELICT, IN 18FMS, 3.1M N 80DEGS E OFF SKERRIES LT. (BOARD OF TRADE, TELEGRAM 28.8.26).
