BUILT IN 1935 BY W DENY & BROS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GENERAL STEAM NAVIGATION CO. OIL ENGINES OF 500RHP FOR 21.5 KNOTS. TAKEN OVER BY THE ADMIRALTY AS AN AUXILLARY TRANSPORT. DAMAGED BY BOMBS DROPPED BY GERMAN AIRCRAFT WHILE WAITING TO ENTER DUNKIRK AT TIME OF EVACUATION OF BRITISH ARMY. WAS TAKEN IN TOW BUT EVENTUALLY SANK. (DODS). ALL 920 MEN RESCUED BY DORIEN ROSE. (R VERPOORTE).
