Underwater Wreck Site Survey Details for the wreck named PORTO (POSSIBLY FORTO) located at approximate coordinates 49 30.7 N, 0 1.85 W in the English Channel near the French coast. Historical hydrographic office records from the UK Hydrographic Office document the survey history of this underwater obstruction from 1918 through 1950. Initial reports identified the wreck position with varying depth amendments over the decades, including recorded depths of 16.4 feet (2.5 fathoms), 2.75 fathoms, 4.75 fathoms marked by a green conical light buoy, and 6.5 fathoms (12 meters). Following repeated position updates and chart amendments, official hydrographic notices in March 1950 ordered the wreck to be deleted from all nautical charts and amended to a dead wreck status.
