The Petite Foule shipwreck is located at coordinates 46 6.94 N, 1 9.08 W off the coast of France near La Rochelle and the Baleines area. The vessel was reported missing during severe storms on December 3, 1976, resulting in the tragic loss of a crew of five after a life raft and buoy marked Petite Foule were discovered. Wreckage was subsequently recovered near La Rochelle in December 1976. Historical hydrographic surveys note that the wreck was later removed from French wreck records in 1987 and amended to dead status on official charts by 1999.
