Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater obstruction details for coordinates 51 09.326 N, 001 33.929 E located in the North Sea off the coast of Suffolk, England. Historical survey data indicates this site was previously identified as a foul area containing abandoned anchors and undersea cable debris. Reports from 1996 noted that anchors from the MV BENCOMO became fouled by discarded coils of old undersea cable and steel trawl or winch wire. The site originally contained two anchors, each attached to a shackle of 44mm chain cable, within a 300-meter radius of the central position. However, official hydrographic surveys conducted between 2017 and 2018 failed to locate any remnants of the wreckage or obstruction at this position. Consequently, the wreck site is classified as dead and is no longer considered an active navigational hazard.

CONSIDER CABLE EXISTS IN VICINITY OF QUOTED POSNS. ALSO FOULED STEEL WIRE LIKE TRAWL WIRE OR WINCH WIRE. ATTACHED TO EACH ANCHOR IS 1 SHACKLE OF 44MM CHAIN CABLE. (MV BENCOMO, FAX DTD 14.11.96).
