Simplified Wreck Survey

Submerged pontoon wreck located at 69 2.903 N, 33 2.203 E in the Barents Sea near the coast of the Kola Peninsula, Russia. This underwater obstruction consists of a submerged pontoon measuring 18 meters in width. The wreck site spans a linear area between coordinates 69 02.888 N, 33 02.355 E and 69 02.897 N, 33 02.412 E. Originally reported in Russian Notice to Mariners 46/6641/06, the pontoon was historically marked on British Admiralty chart BA 2966. Navigation notices suggest that the feature may no longer be present or is no longer charted on recent electronic navigational charts, leading to an amendment of its status to dead. Mariners are advised to use caution when navigating these Barents Sea coordinates as historical underwater obstructions can pose hazards to shallow draft vessels.
