Simplified Wreck Survey

Located in the Bristol Channel off the coast of South Wales near Barry and Cardiff, this unidentified shipwreck lies at coordinates 51 22.417 N, 3 15.348 W. The wreck was first documented in July 1923 when its mast stood six feet above the water surface. Modern multibeam sonar examinations reveal that the vessel remains intact in one piece and is moderately well-defined on the seabed. Measuring approximately 28.1 meters in length and 14.4 meters in beam, the hull stands up to 2.8 meters proud of the sea floor with a seabed scour depression 0.88 meters deep. The wreckage lies oriented along a 055/235 degree axis in general surrounding depths of 9.8 meters, with a minimum clearance depth of 7.1 meters over the structure.
