Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater obstruction at 53 50.412 N, 1 34.345 E located in the North Sea. This site contains a lost cone penetrometer (CPT) equipment set including a hollow steel friction cone and 35 hollow steel rods, measuring 1000mm by 38mm. The debris was recorded on 15 August 2011. Due to the nature of the loss, it is highly unlikely that any steel rods or the cone remain proud of or resting on the seabed, as they typically shear off within the ground. The associated 40-meter data cable may be lying on the seafloor or floating in close proximity to the CPT location. Mariners should exercise caution as this obstruction is designated as foul ground.
