Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck located at coordinates 49 3.97 N, 6 12.548 W in the English Channel near the Isles of Scilly. This submerged obstruction is identified as the HMS Beagle, confirmed by a 1997 survey. The wreck rests at a depth of 110.4 meters, situated within a general seabed depth of 117 to 118 meters. The structure remains largely intact and is likely resting in an upright position on the seafloor. The vessel measures 71 meters in length and 18 meters in width, with a structural height of 6.7 meters, lying on an orientation of 050/230 degrees. The site is noted for a significant magnetic anomaly. It is charted as a wreck with a least echo sounder depth of 110 meters. Despite variations in some French nautical charts, the site is maintained on official maritime navigation data based on the HMS Beagle survey findings.
