Simplified Wreck Survey

Underwater wreck survey data for an obstruction located in the Bristol Channel off the coast of North Devon at coordinates 50 58.578 N, 4 43.002 W. This maritime wreck site was most recently examined on November 5, 2001, using DGPS positioning. The survey confirms a large underwater obstruction with a least echo sounder depth of 42.4 meters within a general depth of 48 meters. The structure measures 80 meters in length and 40 meters in width with a height of 5 meters. The wreck lies on an orientation of 070/250 degrees and displays a strong magnetic anomaly. It is described as generally intact but with the bow and stern appearing broken. Historical survey data from the UK Hydrographic Office notes the site was previously charted as a non-dangerous wreck and position approximate before precise location data was established.
