Simplified Wreck Survey

Located in the Laconian Gulf off the Peloponnese coast of Greece at coordinates 36 40.688 N, 22 31.595 E, this unidentified shipwreck is a documented underwater navigation hazard and maritime obstruction. First recorded in hydrographic surveys in October 1949 with a shallow depth of one fathom per Greek maritime notices, the submerged wreck was later updated in international nautical charts as a dangerous wreck with an exposed mast. Subsequent surveys and French hydrographic charting noted the obstruction with depths charted down to 18 meters in the surrounding waters. Positioned in the coastal waters of southern Greece near the Mani Peninsula, this maritime site remains an important reference for hydrographic surveying, nautical safety, and underwater obstruction tracking in the Mediterranean Sea.
