Underwater Wreck and Obstruction Survey Details Near North Foreland Kent Coordinates 51 26.733 N 1 34.278 E Historical hydrographic surveys from the UK Hydrographic Office document a charted underwater wreck and obstruction located off the coast of North Foreland in Kent England. Initial examinations in the 1930s reported a swept clear depth of 55 feet with a foul depth of 56 feet and a seabed depth of 64 feet noting a small obstruction or possible shoal patch. Subsequent sonar sweeps and investigations by Royal Navy vessels including HMS Franklin HMS Egeria and HMS Enterprise over the decades recorded varying depth clearances and temporary classifications including a reported wreck depth of 9 fathoms. Later multibeam sonar datasets and hydrographic surveys conducted up to 2017 failed to locate the structure resulting in the obstruction being officially amended to dead and classified as not found with no further action required.
