Simplified Wreck Survey

UK Hydrographic Office survey records for an underwater shipwreck located off the Kent coast in the English Channel near the Strait of Dover at coordinates 51 1.538 N, 1 21.25 E detail the history of the site. Initial surveys by HMS Bulldog in 1978 found nothing at the location, but a subsequent 1986 survey located a small compact wreck using trisponder technology at a least echo sounder depth of 24.9 meters within a general depth of 28 meters with no scour, measuring 3.7 meters high and 8.7 meters long, which was subsequently charted. A 1994 examination found a small dispersed wreck measuring 30 by 20 meters lying on a 150/330 degree orientation with a medium magnetometer deflection, a least echo sounder depth of 24.6 meters, and a scour depth of 28.3 meters. The latest high-precision DGPS survey conducted on July 12, 2006, confirmed the wreck position at 51 1.538 N, 01 21.250 E, recording a least multibeam depth of 24.9 meters in 28.1 meters general depth, with dimensions of 8 meters in length, 8 meters in width, a height of 2.7 meters, and a moderate magnetic anomaly.
