Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Ocean Hunter is located at coordinates 56 36.187 N, 7 41.649 W off the west coast of Scotland near the Inner Hebrides. Originally reported as a sinking position by the Oban MRSC on June 11, 1982, the vessel was initially charted as an underwater obstruction. However, subsequent hydrographic investigations conducted in January 1986 using echo sounding and sonar search equipment failed to locate any remains of the vessel at this site. Following the Gardline Survey HI 262A, the record for the Ocean Hunter at these coordinates was amended to dead and removed from official hydrographic charts as the wreck could not be verified.
