Circumstances of loss
BUILT IN 1942 BY TODD-BATH IRON S.B CORP WITH TRIPLE-EXPANSION ENGINES OF 505NHP. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MINISTRY OF WAR TRANSPORT (DODD, THOMSON & CO). PASSAGE PORTLAND, MAINE FOR AVONMOUTH, CALLING AT NEW YORK TO SAIL AS PART OF A CONVOY. DURING HEAVY WEATHER WAS PRESUMED SUNK BY A SUBMARINE IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC. (DODS & WW2SL)
