Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Notre Dame de la Mer sank near Brunsbuttel in the Elbe River outside the main shipping channel at approximate coordinates 53 53 N, 9 10 E. Initial survey reports from late 2020 and early 2021 noted the wreck located near the Elbe pilots house and the cement factory jetty, with salvage operations involving moored vessels working to raise the structure. By March 2021, official notices confirmed that the wreck had been successfully lifted and removed from the Elbe fairway to be towed to Hamburg.
