RAN AGROUND ON GARDNER ISLAND IN HEAVY WEATHER, CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS BURNED OUT. 11 MEN KILLED WHEN SHIP STRUCK, OTHERS RECOVERED ON 4.12.29. (DODS).
