Wreck of the Nancy Moran located in the North Sea off the coast of Essex, United Kingdom. This underwater obstruction is situated at coordinates 51 9.647 N, 1 27.63 E. The wreck is identified as a broken and degraded vessel resting on the seabed. Recent hydrographic surveys, including multibeam echo sounder analysis, confirm the main wreckage measures approximately 50.64 meters in length and 17.72 meters in width, with a height above the seabed of 3.05 meters. The site shows significant evidence of scour, with a scour trench measuring 63.37 meters by 17.41 meters and 2.3 meters deep, indicating complex seabed interaction. The wreck lies at a depth of 21.51 meters within a surrounding general seabed depth of 24.62 meters and is oriented along a 164-degree axis. Due to the high degree of structural degradation and the presence of scattered wreckage, the site is classified as a broken-apart obstruction. Historic survey data indicates the vessel was once marked by a buoy and has been subjected to various dispersal and sweeping operations throughout the 20th century. Today, it remains a documented underwater navigation hazard monitored by the UK Hydrographic Office.
