Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel MORESBY is located at the geographical coordinates 56 6.013 N, 2 31.208 W off the coast of Scotland near Granton in the Firth of Forth. Historically identified as a navigational obstruction, the site has been subject to multiple hydrographic surveys by the UK Hydrographic Office. Following extensive searches by HMS Scott in 1959 and subsequent investigations by Oceonics (UK) Ltd in 1994, the obstruction was not located at the charted position. Consequently, the wreck of the MORESBY has been officially classified as dead and removed from hydrographic charts. There is currently no evidence of wreckage or structural remains, such as welded steel or broken hull sections, at these coordinates.
