BUILT IN 1920 BY NORTH OF IRELAND SB CO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BRITOL CITY LINE OF STEAMSHIPS. TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 378NHP FOR 10.5 KNOTS. PASSAGE BRISTOL FOR NEW YORK. STRAGGLED FROM CONVOY AND WAS TORPEDOED BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE. DUE TO BAD WEATHER AND DARKNESS, BOATS COULD NOT BE GOT AWAY AND SHIPS IN COMPANY COULD NOT HELP. THERE WERE ALSO SEVERAL SUBMARINES IN THE AREA. CREW OF 40 LOST. (DODS).
